BeInCrypto

SEO Product Manager

Top 3 in Category — 4 Years of 2x YoY Growth

The Overview

I joined BeInCrypto in 2019. By the time I left in 2023, it was consistently ranked as a top 3 site in crypto media worldwide.

This wasn't a 90-day campaign. It was a 4-year build.

Eleven languages. Thirty team members recruited and trained. Two complete site rebrands. Market crashes. Algorithm updates. The entire chaos of crypto media from 2019 to 2023.

Through all of it: 2x year-over-year traffic growth, every single year.

Most SEO work is measured in quarters. This was measured in years — long enough to see strategies compound, long enough to get tested by everything the market could throw at us, and long enough to learn what actually sustains growth versus what just spikes it temporarily.

The Challenge

Crypto media between 2019 and 2023 was chaos.

The market went through a full boom-bust-boom cycle. Search demand for crypto topics would spike 10x during bull runs and crater during downturns. Building a sustainable SEO strategy in that environment meant the foundation had to hold through both extremes.

Then there were the rebrands.

BeInCrypto went through 2 complete site rebrands during my tenure. If you've ever migrated a site with thousands of indexed pages across 11 language subdomains, you know how much can go wrong. URL structures change. Internal links break. Authority gets diluted. Years of organic equity can disappear overnight.

And then there was the team challenge.

Running content operations in 11 languages means working with people across every time zone, managing editors who think in different cultural frameworks, and making sure the SEO strategy translates — literally and figuratively — into each market.

This wasn't about finding clever keywords. This was about building an organization.

The Strategy
01
Compounding evergreen content alongside news

Crypto media lives on breaking news, but news content has a short shelf life. Today's headline is tomorrow's irrelevant page. I pushed hard to build a parallel evergreen content library — guides, explainers, comparisons — that would generate consistent organic traffic between news cycles.

Result: The evergreen library became the foundation the site's growth sat on. Traffic that didn't disappear when the news cycle moved on.

02
Market-specific keyword strategy

Each of the 11 language markets got its own keyword research and content calendar. What ranks in English crypto search is not what ranks in German or Portuguese or Turkish. I worked with local SEO managers to identify market-specific opportunities rather than simply translating the English strategy.

Result: Real rankings in local markets, not just "international" checkboxes.

03
Rebrand migration playbooks

For both site rebrands, I built detailed migration plans: full URL mapping, redirect chains, canonical tag audits, and post-migration monitoring dashboards. The goal was simple — lose as little organic equity as possible. Both times, we recovered traffic within weeks rather than months.

Result: Two major rebrands without losing years of accumulated SEO value.

04
Structured team development

I created onboarding processes, editorial guidelines, and SEO training programs for new hires. The strategy was only useful if the people executing it understood the reasoning behind it. I invested heavily in context-sharing so the team could make good decisions independently.

Result: 30+ team members who could execute strategy without me in the room.

05
Cross-functional alignment with product

SEO at this scale isn't just a content job — it touches site architecture, page speed, schema implementation, and CMS capabilities. I worked closely with the product team to make sure technical SEO requirements were built into the development roadmap, not patched on after the fact.

Result: Technical SEO that shipped with features, not months later.

What I Learned

Long-term SEO is a different discipline than short-term SEO.

The strategies that double traffic in 3 months are not the same ones that double it every year for 4 years. Sustained growth requires systems — editorial processes, team development, documentation — not just tactics.

Site migrations don't have to be disasters.

With enough planning, clear redirect mapping, and aggressive post-migration monitoring, you can get through a full rebrand without losing years of organic equity. It's not luck; it's process.

The team is the strategy.

I could have had the best keyword research and content plans in the world — none of it matters if the 30 people executing it across 11 languages don't understand what they're doing and why.
